Altenew 8th anniversary blog hop – Day 5!

Welcome to the celebration! Happy Birthday to Altenew! If you are joining in today’s hop, you are coming from Jaycee Gaspar. Your next stop is Amber Rain Davis. If you are interested in checking out the hop list or for more inspiration, head over to the Altenew Card Blog.

I became a devotee of Altenew when I first laid eyes on their layered floral stamps. Peony Bouquet was my first Altenew purchase in 2017 and this set is still a favorite of mine. For the 8th anniversary of Altenew, I am CASEing the first card I made with Peony Bouquet and adding some new favorites from Altenew.

This is the first card I made with the Peony Bouquet stamp set. Notice the gold details.

For this updated card, I stamped the peony using Cherry Blossom inks. I then grounded the peony by masking it and adding the other flowers from the stamp set. The yellow flowers were stamped in inks from the Golden Sunset inks. Martian Terrain and Green Meadows inks were used for the smaller flowers and the leaves. To give the main flower more depth, I used Tide Blue from the Woodless Coloring Pencils to create a delineated space on the design. Finally I added a sentiment from Simple Sentiments 2 that was stamped onto Sentiment Banners foiled sentiment strip using Obsidian Ink. The splatter is from Antique Silver metallic spray.

The Woodless Coloring Pencils and the Sentiment Banners foiling plate and dies are very new products to Altenew. I love mixing up my older Altenew items with new favorites.
