Altenew Paint a flower: Gerbera Revolution

Daisies are just so beautiful and come in so many colors and varieties. Altenew’s latest Paint a Flower: Gerbera Revolution is a collection of adorable daisies that you can color in any medium. If you are joining in the hop with us you have just come from Ann Taylor and your next stop is Sande Woodson. If you are looking for more inspiration or want to start the hop over, check out the Altenew Blog.

Whenever I am out and about, I always bring coloring projects with me. My newest coloring medium is the Hawaiian Shores brush tip pens. These pens come in a set of 12 vibrant colors and have both a brush and bullet nib. I used these markers to color in the daisies of Gerbera Revolution.

I stamped the image in Altenew Permanent Black Ink. This ink is permanent when dry. When I am unsure of which black ink I should use, this is the ink I choose.

For each of the petals, I used three analogous colors. To color the orange flower, I first laid down strokes of Crimson and then Autumn Blaze. I then tried to blend them with Maple Yellow. For the blue flower, I started with Ultraviolet, then Persian Blue and blended with Turquoise. The Hawaiian shores markers blend beautifully. Make sure to not use too much ink as your paper will pill. The Hawaiian Shores brush pens are water soluble so you could use water to blend the colors.

This was a very quick image to color. I like how the image takes up just enough of the space on my card front.

This stamp set has a lot of smaller sentiments that you can pair with the two larger sentiments. I stamped the sentiment using Altenew Obsidian ink and drew two lines with the bullet tip of the Pure Graphite marker.

Yes, that is right, you could receive the newest Paint a Flower every month at a discount. You get to preview the stamp set before you buy it, too!
