Happy Birthday, Altenew!

Thank you for joining us on day 2 of celebrating Altenew’s birthday. Altenew has been innovating the crafting industry and sharing their amazing products with us for 10 years. Last summer I had an opportunity to join Altenew in Syracuse, New York at the Lemonade Party Retreat. Tasnim, Jen and Lydia taught classes to a packed room of Altenew devotees. I had such a great time and loved the special package of stamps, stencils and dies that were curated just for the retreat. For my card, I used the Zesty Life stamp and stencil set which was unveiled at the retreat and paired it with the Rattan Stripes die to make this fun card.

The Zesty Life stencil is easy to use. After heat embossing the outline of the larger Zesty Life image with Altenew Antique Gold Embossing Powder, I used the coordinating stencils to add some color. The lemons were inked with Buttercream, Warm Sunshine and Olove inks.

Although it is hard to see in the image, the Rattan Stripes die gives such a nice texture to the card front. To make these stripes, I blended Teal Cave onto one piece of paper and Galactic Stream onto another. Both pieces were die cut from the Rattan Stripes Cover die. Then the Teal Cave and Galactic Stream strips were then separated and attached onto a piece of cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ W x 5″ H. Finally, I mounted that piece onto a piece of 4″ W x 5 1/4″ H galactic stream cardstock and then that was mounted onto an A2 top folding card base.
