Using the Peek-a-Boo Die with Mail Jumble
Hero Arts has a great product that came out in November 2018 but I only recently discovered it. The Peek-a-Boo Die works with three different background stamps to cut out an A2 sized card front and score tons of doors where you can stamp or include little messages. This post is about the die and using it with the Mail Jumble background stamp to make a Thank you card. Please continue reading to find out more about this great product.
Mail Jumble stamp
The Mail Jumble Stamp is a background stamp of tons of different envelopes. I stamped this background using Gina K black amalgam ink. I colored all the envelopes and ephemera in using Tombow Dual Brush Markers. When coloring this background, I tried to use the same markers different places all over the background to build a cohesive look.
Using the Peek-a-Boo Die
When first getting the Peek-a-Boo die, it may not make sense of how it lines up with the background. I used the die on a piece of white cardstock to better understand how the die worked and to line up my sentiments. I then used a Sharpie to write which way is up on the die. Nichol Spohr has a video on the Hero Arts blog which explains how to use the die. There are 24 openings on the die so figuring out stamp placement can be tricky. Placing the scrap die cut over the panel base, I was able to figure out stamp placement. Hero Arts has the Mini Messages stamp set which fits sentiments in the small windows perfectly. I also used small images from other stamp sets I had. This was a thank you card so I looked online for ways to say thank you in different languages and I wrote them in using a black .03 Micron Pen.
Assembly
After coloring the background and stamping the sentiments, I adhered the background to the base using Nuvo liquid glue to give me some wiggle room. I then adhered the whole panel to an A2 top folding white card base made out of 110lb Neenah Solar white cardstock. What I like about this die is that there are two other background stamps that can be used with it to make window cards. Currently Hero Arts has the Mini Messages set and I am hopeful they will come out with more options. If I did not have the right sentiment, I can just write or draw it in. Check out this die and background stamps and let me know in the comments below what sentiments or images you would add behind the doors.
