Countdown to Christmas – 10 days to go

What is it about Christmas and the holidays that makes us want to connect and share with others. Sharing a homemade card or gift is the highest compliment you can give someone because you are sharing your time and passion. I love sending unique cards to others and I am starting this series to share with you some card ideas. I hope you are inspired to make these cards yourself.

I challenged myself to use only stamp sets that I had previously purchased. Most of these sets are still available and I will link the products I used to make the cards below. For each design, I make at least 2 cards to help double my output. Here is the first card I am sharing on this challenge for myself…

This first card was made using Hero Arts Winter Hearth Stamp and Cut. Hero Arts has smaller stamp sets that include the dies which made it easy to cut out all the images at one. I colored the images in using Copic markers and didn’t worry about the blending. 
To assemble the card, I used an embossing folder of tree bark from Paper Lane to give the background some texture. The hearth is from the stamp set and I used a red cardstock scrap from my stash. The stockings were hung using small brads. The sentiment is from the stamp set and was stamped onto a label cut from Cricut Labels and Such die set and then gold marker was used as an accent around it. To stamp the holly, I used Tombow markers to color in the image and then added in Swarovski crystals for real shine.
