Welcome to another amazing monthly release. If you are hopping along with us, you have just come from Maryám Pérez. Your next stop is Mindy Eggen. For more information or to start the hop over from the beginning, please visit the Altenew Card Blog.
For this month, I am using watercolor backgrounds to set off this wonderful collection of stamps. Each background was made using the Altenew Watercolor brush markers, Altenew Artist Watercolor Brushes and Altenew watercolor paper. To make these backgrounds, use the #18 flat brush to add water to the paper, then use the Watercolor Brush Markers to add color. Play with the amount of water and pigment until you get the background you want. When choosing colors, I use analogous colors to make sure the colors have a seamless blend.
Altenew Build-A-Garden Tulips and Friends
Each Build-A-Garden contains a stamp set with coordinating coloring stencil. For this card, I first embossed the stamped image with Antique Gold embossing powder. Then I used Cherry Blossom, Enchanted Garden and Tropical Forest inks and the stencil to color in the image. I then cut out the image to place it on the watercolored background.
The final touch is a sentiment from the set: thank you, heat embossed on the watercolor background with Antique Gold embossing powder.
Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Garden Rose
The Craft a Flower this month is gorgeous. I made more watercolor background panels using reds, pinks and yellows. From these panels, I die cut the pieces for the CAF Garden Rose and assembled the flowers. The leaves are also from watercolored panels.
The sentiment is from the Bold Sentiment stamp set and was stamped on white card stock using Obsidian ink and then cut out and adhered to the card panel.
Altenew Project Kit: Always Sunshine
Each month the Project Kits get more and more amazing. I decided to focus on the embossing folder for this project. After watercoloring the background panel, I used the embossing folder to add dimension. I loved the simple design and elegance that I decided to just add a sentiment.
The sentiment is from Bold sentiments and was stamped with Obsidian ink. The sentiment is backed with Brushed Gold Metallic Cardstock. There are a few drops of Antique Silver Ink Spray to add movement and break up the blue background.
Altenew Mini Delight: Tropical Greetings
A tiny tropical bird…too cute! The bird was die cut out and colored in with watercolor brush markers. To set the scene for the bird, I stamped the sentiment, branch and leaves from the set and then used clear embossing powder to protect them as I made a background using Watercolor Brush markers.
The final touch is a piece of GrandStream Washi Tape that looks just like a tree! Some splatters of Antique Silver metallic ink and the flower from the coordinating die set help to set the scene.
Altenew Paint-A-Flower China Rose
For this project, I first heat embossed the Paint a Flower China Rose using Rose Gold embossing powder onto watercolor paper. I used Artist Markers to add some color to the center of the flowers while keeping most of the flowers white.
I then used the Watercolor Brush Markers to add color to the background. The sentiment is from the set and embossed with Platinum embossing powder.

Lovely cards! I love how your Craft A Flower turned out. Seems like making a water color panel would be faster than coloring the individual petals. Great colors, thanks for the inspiration.
