Altenew December Release

Welcome to another amazing Altenew release. I am always floored every month at how Altenew can continue to release so many amazing products each month. I made a ton of cards with many of these products and I can’t wait to share them with you. Click the read more button and let’s get started!

This large single bloom is beautiful and it’s large petals can handle a lot of different techniques. I used this rose in two different ways: coloring on vellum and coloring for a monochromatic look. 

Coloring on vellum-This large bloom was heat embossed with Altenew rose gold embossing powder and colored with Red Cosmos (flower) and Tropical Forest (leaves) Artist Markers. The background was stamped with VersaMark Ink and then the images had Perfect Pearls in Blush brushed over them. The gold embossed border was drawn in VersaMarker and then Altenew Rose Gold embossing powder was added. 

Monochromatic blooms – Each of these blooms were embossed in a coordinating embossing powder color, accents colored with Altenew Artist Markers and then a sentiment from Best sentiments was applied. 

Blissful Blossoms stamp set is a layered, loose floral stamp set. I like this set for its versatility as a focal point or to build a background. 

As a background – The smaller images from this set really allow for a filled in background. The flowers were stamped in Red Cosmos and the leaves in Green Valley. The sentiment is from Holiday Tag sentiments and is embossed in Altenew Antique Gold embossing powder and finished off with Altenew Antique Gold sequins and Golden Trim Washi Tape. 

As a focal point – This card pairs up the Blissful Blossoms stamps with the Mandala Maker. I stamped the Mandala Maker circles first to figure out the placement of the flowers. Then I stamped and die cut a whole bunch of floral images from Blissful Blossoms. I then stamped the flowers from Blissful Blossoms, images from Mandala Maker onto the Mandala Maker circles. The die cut flowers were popped up over the stamped flowered images and I added enamel dots from Altenew Sea Shore and Green Fields enamel dot sets. The sentiment is from Altenew Beautiful Quotes was stamped and heat embossed with Antique Gold embossing powder. 

The Goldfish Pond stamp set is hands down my favorite of this release. There is something about these cute, layered fish that is just happy. The Dots and Boxes Background stamp is one that will be in my stash for a long time. I like the way it can be used to create a cool, modern background and the strip stamp will add a defining edge or border to your projects. 

Building a Scene – Dots & Boxes stamped in Deep Blue Seas ink is a perfect backdrop of die cut goldfish. The die cuts were colored using Artist markers. The goldfish is a layering stamp set which is very easy to layer. The slim line size of this card, gave the fish enough room to move around.

The Ornamental 3D embossing folder embossed with such detail and raised edges. On this trifold card, I embossed each panel and then lightly brushed on Altenew Antique Gold ink and then Lapis Lazuli ink set. The sentiment is from the Holiday Tags Sentiment stamp set and embossed with Altenew Antique Gold ink.

This is a stencil! not a stamp! – Yes, you read that right; included in this release are two coloring stencils; one for You are Beautiful and another for Tranquility Rose. You are Beautiful stencil was so easy to use and line up and provides realistic results with little effort. What I liked about using the stencils is that I can turn the stencil over to change the direction of the flower from the right side to the left which I can not do with the stamp. 

WIth this release, Altenew is releasing three new ink sets: Martian Terrain (a brownish red ink), Nature’s Wonders (a yellowish/olive green ink set) and Northern Shore (a deep blue ink). Using You are Beautiful stencil, I inked up the flower in the Martian Terrain inks and the leaves in the Nature’s Wonders. Blue Trim washi and the Altenew fine liner pens finish the look. Included in this release is a set of organizational decals that include signs for your stuff and some flowers to make them look pretty, too! These decals were very easy to work with and were thick enough to not rip or tear easily.
