Altenew Build a Flower: Wild Rose Hop + Giveaway

Hello and thank you for joining the blog hop celebrating BAF Wild Rose. This month’s build a flower from Altenew is a delightful large floral image that I had a lot of fun stamping with inks from different color families.

Within this Build-A-Flower stamp set, there are beautiful floral images that you can either color or do layered stamping. My projects for BAF Wild Rose push color boundaries and use colors from different Altenew ink sets. I was gifted this stamp set from Altenew to help inspire your creativity. When I get a floral layering stamp set, the first thing I do is stamp a lot of images. I cut a piece of paper in half so I have two sheets of 8 1/2″ H x 5 1/2″ W so the pieces will fit into my stamp positioner. I then stamp each of the floral layers. Stamping a bunch of flowers at once saves time. I used four different color combinations to make these flowers. I then die cut out all the flowers and leaves and used the pieces to make three cards. 

With all the flowers and leaves ready to be placed onto cards, I needed to make some backgrounds worthy of these floral masterpieces. 
STAMPING
One of the smaller images in a set makes for a great background. Using Limestone ink, I stamped one of the smaller floral images from the set onto a card front that was cut down to  4″W x 5 1/4″ H. I then placed my floral images on it, added a die cut thanks sentiment from Altenew Script Words 2 die set and mounted the card front to a gray A2 top folding card base. White satin sequins finished the card.
The ink colors for the blue flower are: Industrial Diamond (A1), Icy Water (A2), Winter Lake (A3) and Pure Graphite (A4). The ink colors for the purple flower are: Cloudy Sky (A1), Amethyst (A2), Nimbus (A3), Grape Agate (A4). The leaves are: Industrial Diamond (B1), Frayed Leaf (B2), Forest Glades (B3) and Evergreen (B4).

WASHI TAPE
There are so many beautiful washi tapes out there and Altenew has a ton of amazing ones. The Brushed Grid washi tape makes a great graphic background that juxtaposes with the floral on top of it. THANKS is die cut from the Altenew Fine Alphabet die set. The ink colors in this flower are: Coral Bliss (A1), Buttercream (A2), Heart Beat (A3), and Vineyard Berry (A4). The leaves are: Industrial Diamond (B1), Frayed Leaf (B2), Forest Glades (B3) and Evergreen (B4) and Industrial Diamond (B1), Frayed Leaf (B2), Volcano Lake (B3) and Evergreen (B4). The addition of Volcano Lake in the second most detail layer (B3) really makes the leaf look different.

EMBOSS RESIST
Ink blending a background is a quick and easy way to add color and build a background. Having a smaller image that is embossed with Clear or White embossing powder makes the background have a delicate touch. After embossing a smaller image from the stamp set onto a card front, I inked the background using these inks. The HELLO letters were cut using the Fine Alphabet dies from navy cardstock. The gold frame anchors the floral image and adds just a touch of shine. The color of inks on this flower are: Purple wine (A1), Vanilla Cream (A2), Puffy Heart (A3) and Winter Lake (A4). The leaves are: Industrial Diamond (B1), Frayed Leaf (B2), Forest Glades (B3) and Evergreen (B4).​
