Hello crafty friends! Welcome to the blog hop celebrating this month’s Build-A-Flower release: Giant Bellflower. If you are hopping along with us, you have just come from Katrina Howe and your next stop is Natasha Davies. If you would like more information, check out the Altenew Card Blog which is hosting the hop.
The Giant Bellflower is a beautiful layered floral stamp. For my projects using this stamp set, I wanted to focus on different color combinations for layered florals. When I discovered Altenew, it was the layered floral stamps and their ability to quickly produce a realistic image that wowed me. These Build-A-Flowers each month still continue to wow and the Giant Bellflower is another amazing realistic floral.
The flowers on the Giant Bellflower have three layers and an outline. For the white flowers, I stamped the outline in Silverstone ink from the Rock Collection Ink set. I skipped the first layer and stamped the second layer in Lemon Ice Ink from the Frozen Delights set and the final layer in Gray Denim from the Gentleman’s Gray ink set. The second layer of leaves was stamped in Pistachio from the Frozen Delights set. The flowers were cut out and then adhered onto a background stamped from the Dot Botanicals stamp set inked in Green Opal inks. A hugs die cut from Scripty Sentiments cut from Platinum Embossed scrap paper sets off this flower so nicely.
The second card up is a purple Giant Bellflower. The outline image was stamped in Vanilla Cream from the Delectable Delights stamp set. Vanilla Cream is my go to for soft outlines and no line looks. The flower layers were stamped in this order: Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart and Purple wine from the Cherry Blossom ink set. The leaves were stamped in Frayed leaf and Forest Glades from the Green Fields ink set. The background is Dot Botanicals stamped in Silver lake and Green Opal inks and embellished with enamel dots from the Rock Collection set.
Did you know that you could get a new Build-A-Flower every month and for a discounted price! As a subscriber to the BAF club, you can preview the stamp before it is released and decide to keep it or to pass. Check out Altenew for more information.

Lovely cards Amy!I appreciate that you brought back the dotted stamp set, it is a great alternative for backgrounds without adding bulk. BTW I like the new site look, for a moment I was thrown for a loop when I did not see your picture, It is interesting how our brain stores so much information and we don’t notice it until something changes 🤔…any how wishing you much more success!
Thanks so much, Liz! The Dot Botanicals are a great set to add just that little bit to your card. Thanks for the shout out to my new website. Trying something new. I’m so glad you liked it.
